Harry Clyde Moore, age 93, of Chatham, Va., died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville. He was born on October 31, 1914, in Chatham. He was the son of the late Lee Arthur Moore and the late Lena Yeatts Moore.
He was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. Mr. Moore worked in the shipyard in Newport News, Va. during World War II. Harry retired from Scott Funeral Home in Chatham after 30 years service.
Harry was predeceased by his wife, Harriette Witcher Moore.
He is survived by three sons, John C. Moore, Wade Scott Moore, and Timothy R. Moore and his wife, Cathy, all of Chatham; two grandchildren, James "Jay" Alderson of Danville and Jessica B. Moore of Chat-ham; one brother, Jack C. Moore and his wife, Susan of Chatham; one sister, Mildred M. Hudson and her husband, Rodney of Durham, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Anna R. Moore of Chatham, Helen Moore of Lynchburg, and Nellie Moore of Ringgold.
In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by a daughter, Mona Moore Beecy; and four broth-ers, Edward L. Moore, Julius E. Moore, Addison C. Moore and Hunt Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted at Hollywood Baptist Church on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry C. St. John officiating. Burial will be at Hollywood Baptist Church cemetery.
