DEATH: Cause> Mortally wounded by an arrow, when besieging Burwell Castle, co. Cambridge, Aug 1144.
DEATH: Date> 14 or 16 Sep 1144.
BURIAL: Place> After death, his body was taken by the Knights Templars to their Old Temple in Holborn, but as he had died under excommunication, could not receive Christian burial till absolution was granted in 1163. He was then buried in the New Temple Church.
