Deacon John Warfield
Deacon John Warfield the WARFIELD immigrant ancestor was living in Dedham Massachusetts as early as 1642 and he doubtless came from England a few years before He was made a freeman there After a time he moved to Medfield and finally to Mendon Massachusetts in 1685 There he was made deacon of the church and was much respected by all He was put in charge of the meeting house and was also schoolmaster being the first teacher of the common schools there He married first Elizabeth Shepard who died May 24 1669 He married second Peregrina and she died April 1 1671 He married third at Dedham Hannah Randall He died April 12 1692 Children by first wife John born August 20 1662 Elizabeth August 29 1665 Children by third wife Ithamar born March 26 1676 Ephraim October 4 1679 Elihu mentioned below Mary born at Mendon April 17 1685 Elizabeth March 8 1688 perhaps Samuel

John Warfield, Sr., was of Medfield in 1679, and was in Mendon as early as 1683, where he was deacon of the church. He died April 12, 1692, in Mendon. His wife Hannah was alive as late as 1691, for her father's will, made March 27 of that year, leaves her five pounds "in good Country pay at money price to be paid three months after my decease." This bequest he also made, as follows: "And I also give unto my said two daughters [Mary and Hannah] my greatest Brass Kettle, the price as valued to be equally divided between them." Hannah, the widow of John Warfield, died in Mendon, March 9, 1712.

John married Hannah Randall on 26 Dec 1671 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA. Hannah (daughter of Robert Randall and Mary French) was born after 1642; died on 9 May 1712 in Mendon, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Robert (Randall) (of ) Weymouth, (MA) freeman (in)1647, then spelled. Rendell, in his will of 27 March, 1691, names his children, John, Thomas, Mary, who was born 29 or 30 March 1642 wife of Abraham Staples, married 17 September, 1660, and Hannah wife of John Warfield, both of them of Mendon, (MA). Mary his wife was buried 3 September 1640 but his next wife is unknown He came from Wendover, County of Bucks, (England) as he testifies in 1688 at the age of 80.
