    Some assumptions may be made from this entry.....he had five sons...he bought the shoes and ribbon for his wife or daughter...he bought educational materials for his children...he lived in the part of Hanover that converted to Louisa.

    Anyway, very interesting to have a peek at his selections.

    February 22, 1760: William Bennett appears as a defendant debtor in asuit brought by Archibald Buchanan and John Bowman & Co., Plfs. Richard Bennett became security for the defendant. Judgment for the plaintiffs against William and Richard Bennett for 38 Lbs 12s, to be discharged by the payment of one half the amount plus interest. (Halifax Co.Plea Book 3, p. 22)

    February 22, 1760: Judgment entered against William Bennett in favor of James Hunt, Pltf. For 2

    On [D] the Pittsylvania County Court ordered John Goad, Jr., William Bennett, James Dalton and Bryant Ward Nowling, or any three of them, to appraise the estate of Philemon Payne.

    About 1710, William Bennett, husband of Sarah, died. In 1713, Sarah Bennett is cited by the court in Middlesex Co., VA for having a bastard child. In 1714 Sarah Bennett married George Bowden. In 1717 Sarahis named administratrix of George Bowden's estate. In 1725 William Bennett petitioned the court of Middlesex Co., VA on behalf of his brother John Bowden. This records proves that the Sarah Bennett named in the previous records was the mother of William.
