She is enumerated as under 5 in the 1830 census, 10-15 in the 1840 census, and the 1850 census shows she is 23 years old. Furthermore, her parents were not married until 1826. Therefore, it seems likely that Rachel was born about 1827. Her parents lived in Jackson County, Georgia at the time of her birth.
