Samuel T Moore Confederate Service Record

Samuel enlisted as a private in the Danville Blues, Company A of the 18th Virginia Infantry Regiment on April 23, 1861. Wounded at Gaines Mill June 27 1862. Returned to Company at Fredericksburg November 27 1862. Wounded at Gettysburg and left at hospital where he was taken prisoner, hospitalized at Baltimore July 25 and paroled August 25 1863. Promoted to Corporal after return. Promoted to 5th Sergeant December 31 1863 Acting Sergeant Major August 31 1864.
