Anthon Magnus Probate 1898

Notes - Anthon was the 3rd son of Johannes Magnus. He became a jeweler and emigrated to the United States, settling in Providence Rhode Island in 1850. Anthon established himself as a jeweler there and is listed as such in the city directories beginning in 1852. In 1854 he shares the same address with Charles (Carl) Enborn, another jeweler. Charles is not found in subsequent Providence directories, so it appears he died abt 1855. Anthon married Charles' daughter Augusta T Enborn in 1855. He ran his jewelry business in Providence until his death in 1898. His sister Marie emigrated to Wisconsin in 1870, during which time they exchanged letters. Marie's husband Mads also mentioned Anton in the diary he kept during their journey.
