I believe he is the son of William MOORE whose 1790 will pr in Campbell Co, names wife Elizabeth, sons William & Thomas, & daus Luce ROADS & Jane MOORE,dividing among them the 500 acres of a patent he rec 28 Oct 1788 in Bedford Co on the west branches of Seneca Creek. Wit to the will Mary & John RICHARDSON were the sis & bro-in-law of Winifred TERRELL. Would welcome any info about this family.

    perfect memory...first all my just debts to be paid..
    To my daughter, Jane More, 100 acres in the forks of the road where I now live, and 1 mare & colt all the household furniture and 3 cows.
    To my son William More 200 acres out of the tract I now live on, 3 cows.
    To my son Thomas More 100 acres where he now lives.
    To my daughter Leuss Roads 100 acres where she now lives.
    My desire is that my wife Elizabeth More, may live her lifetime on the place where she now lives & to live on what I have given my daughter Jane More & at my wife's death, my desire is that my daughter Jane shall enjoy what I have now given her.

    To Jean Moore 100 acres bounded by Ward's road, Thomas Moore's line. Also 1 white mare and colt, 6 pewter plates, 2 pewter dishes, 1 earthen teapot, 6 cups and saucers, 1 feather bed and furniture, 1 chaff ditto and furniture, 1 oak table, a 7 gallon iron pot, 1 dutch oven, 1 kettle, 1 pair worping barns*, 1 poplar chest, 1 black cow, 1 brown cow, no horns, 1 black heifer no horns, 1 pair pot hooks, 1 box iron and two heaters, 6 knives & forks 1 pair shears & scissors, 1 churn, 2 pails, 1 piggin, 5 books, 6 pewter spoons, 1 cotton wheel.
    The above allotment to Jane Moore appears by the Will to be lent to Eliza. Moore, during her life.
    To Luce Roads 100 acres bounded by Richardson's, Wards Road,
    Jane Moore & Murry's order line.
    To William Moore 200 acres, it being the residue of 500 acres of land that was patented to said William Moore ded'd, after deducting the 3 foregoing tracts of 100 each, laid off as before described. Also 1 pied cow, no horns, 1 brown heifer ditto, 1 yellow ditto.

    MOORE, TERRELL, MINTER, HOLLOWAY - William Moore b. Oct,1767 d. Oct,1855 wife Winifred (TERRELL) MOORE b. Oct 14, 1760 d. Oct,1855. Son William MOORE Jr. b. Jun,1794 d.Jan,1857. William Jr. married Jincy MINTER, dau of John and Susanna MINTER (MINTER is not known where they came from). They all came from Campbell County, Virgina. Went to Ohio for a short period (time period unknown). In the 1820's came to Randolph County,Indiana. From William MOORE Jr. down, I have a lot of information. Would love have information of where the MINTER's and TERRELL's came from. The HOLLOWAY's married into the MOORE family in Randolph County, Indiana. Would anyone have information if these where the same HOLLOWAY's that are in Campbell County...

    In the name of God amen. In the name of God I Thomas Moore Senr of the County of Campbell and state of Virginia being in usual health of body and in perfect mind and memory as usual do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament

    Item First I humbly bequeath my soul to God my Maker and resign my body to the Earth from whence it was taken in full assurance of its resurrection from thence at the last day as for my burial I desire it may be decent at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named As to my worldly estate it is my will and desire that all my just debts be first paid and the residue of my estate to be disposed of as followeth viz
    Item 2 I lend unto my dearly beloved wife Sarah Moore the tract of land whereon we now live during her natural life together with all the stock of every description plantaion utensils and household furniture for her maintenance.
    Item 3 It is my will and desire that my three daughters namely Polly, Sarah, and Elizabeth, shall have one feather bed apiece given them at the discretion of my wife Sarah Moore and at the decease of my wife Sarah Moore It is my will and desire that the said daughters above named shall have one cow or heifer given them out of my estate or the value of one apiece
    Item 4 It is my will and desire that my son Thomas Moore Jr shall have forty dollars out of my estate for the purpose of purchasing him a horse.
    Item 5 It is my will and desire that the crop which may be made on the land in the year of my wifes decease shall be equally divided among my children that may then be living on the land and bearing this part in labour as heretofore.
    Item 6 It is my will and desire that after the decease of my wife Sarah Moore that my land and stock of every description of other property and money accruing from the estate be sold, the property and money equally divided among all my children.

    I hereby revoke and disallow all my former wills and testaments ordaining this and no other to be my last will and testament. I also nominate constitute and appoint Daniel Moore and Thomas Moore Jr executors of this my last will and testament. In the name of God amen. Witness my hand and seal this 8th day of October in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and thirty four in presence of Wm J Harvey, R A Walthall

    The within last will and testament of Thomas Moore deceased was presented in court and proved by the oaths of William J Harvey and Robert A Walthall witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded and at a court held for said court held for said county the 8th day of June following on the motion of Thomas Moore the executor in said will named leave is given him to administer on said decedant's estate. Whereupon he together with Daniel Moore his security entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of three hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs for said executors due and faithful administration on said decedant's estate and performance of his will.     “This dead make this 30th day of October 1872 between Catherine Moore, Thomas H Moore, Edward Sampson, and Sarah his wife, Richard Moore, Wm A Moore, Chas R Moore, John Coffman, and Mary F, his wife, and Emma Moore by Charles M. Blockford appointed a special comm to convey with such of Moore vs. Moore penclargy(?) is this County Court of Ameherst County at its September term 1872 of the first part and Charles Ruckor (color) of the second part witness that in obedionca(?) to and in consideration of the said decree, reade in said cause at the September term of the County Court of Amherst the said Blackford for and in behalf of the said parties of the first part doth grant and convey into said Charles Rucker with special warrenty, the following real estate purchased by said Rucker under the decree in said cause ???? a piece of parcel of land laying in the County of Amherst about one mile above the Tobe???? Budge at Lynchburg adjoining the land of LL Purrs, J.A. Moselay and others being the same conveyed to Austin Moore by Robert Isbell and his wife on 10th of August 1862 and is generally known as “Round Top” or “Sugar Loaf”. Th have and to hold to him the said Chas Rucker and his Heirs forever. Given under our hands and seals this 30th day of October 1872”
